I’m horribly homesick. Graduate work is intensely rewarding, extremely demanding and very isolating. I’ll be here another year, then some research travel. Then, maybe I will be able to come home.

Indeed.

I have, lately, been feeling the “horror” of meat-realization: the existential knowing that I will one day be worm-food. I’m not entirely certain why it has reared its head recently (it’s been going on for a couple of weeks). It is. . . unpleasant.
