His films are sometimes so dense with them that it feels like reading Alan Moore.

The best ones in Ratatouille are all the death imagery around the restaurant critic. His undertaker clothing, the way his stature recalls Angus Grimm from the Phantasm movies, the coffin-shaped office, the skull on his typewriter.
