Skipped your post for now because I'm only 6 missions into singleplayer (doing it myself on heroic, which is turning into a somewhat welcome time sink). I just came here to recommend you try the rocket races VIP variant in multiplayer, it's hilarious. Remember those old Warthog jumping videos from Halo 1? They made a gameplay variant out of it.

The idea is that the players divide up into teams of two, one VIP one standard. Each team gets a warthog. All players are invincible, as are the warthogs, and everyone's got infinite rockets. Capture points pop up around the map. The VIP can only ride shotgun, the standard player can only drive, and the goal is to get your VIP to the capture point first, thus scoring. Once a capture point is taken, another is generated randomly somewhere on the map. First to 10 wins.

So the way to win is to blow the ATVs out from under the other players, who go spinning off at crazy directions, especially when multiple rockets hit simultaneously. It's hilarious, my face hurts from laughing so much for the last two hours.

You might get your money's worth out of it with this.
