Dedicated servers may well fix the problem right up.

And oh yes. Portal is so. Fucking. Awesome. I hearted it so much.

HL2:E1 is sub-par. HL2:E2 is so far, so good.

The TF2 problems you speak of seem to be related to the usual xbox 360 “one guy is hosting the game” paradigm, and the lack of dedicated servers. Hopefully they fix that shit right up.
