Even as someone who hasn’t played for about two years, it’s sad to see it go. It was nice to think that I could go back if I wanted. Your position is entirely understandable. Hobbies, no matter how you love them, can get too expensive to maintain, and I can’t imagine anyone faulting you for that. Well, I totally can imagine ingrates doing that, but they certainly don’t have a leg to stand on.

But you know what one of my first thoughts was? “Ooh, maybe Jorm will have time to play games again now and I can join him in the next one.” Because of your role as administrator, you didn’t get to enjoy the playside of this. Whatever game you hop on next, please please let me know and I’ll just whatever club the cool kids join.

all I know of it, I read here, in bits and pieces, on LJ.

but I must say that it’s a lovely parting letter, and I see
many similarities with it, to my existence these last 4 or 5
years, inhabiting OMDs (Online Music Directories).

many of them start “for the love of it,” and then grow too
big and explode, leaving a raft of friends to drift on to the
next spot.

sometimes the “next spot” is created by one of the survivors,
as in your tale.

which leads me to wonder, where the next spot will be in this
saga….
