Man, my hatred of “Crystal Skull” is very, very much about how it invalidates the previous movies, and not-so-much about The Kid.

But I agree with you: they should have just done a retelling, written for the Z generation and those of us who understand computers.

I grant that the script writers very specifically wrote a “Tron” sequel. This is *not* a plot that could stand on its own, or was shoehorned into the Tron milieu. And for that, I’m happy.

Pun not intended, but Tron 2.0 would have been better as a “reboot” — just redo the concept for the 21st century without reference to the 80s.
