But I agree with you: they should have just done a retelling, written for the Z generation and those of us who understand computers.

I grant that the script writers very specifically wrote a &quot;Tron&quot; sequel.  This is *not* a plot that could stand on its own, or was shoehorned into the Tron milieu.  And for that, I&#039;m happy.]]></description>

Not only is the character inherently less interesting  (the Journey of a Guy Who Was Related to the Hero), it invalidates the original movie, since whatever evils that were vanquished that time just came back anyway.

Pun not intended, but Tron 2.0 would have been better as a &quot;reboot&quot; -- just redo the concept for the 21st century without reference to the 80s.
